About FairClaimCalculator
FairClaimCalculator is an independent, free educational website. It helps U.S. vehicle owners check the facts, comparables, and arithmetic behind a total-loss or diminished-value auto insurance claim — nothing more.
What this site is
Ten calculators that run entirely in your browser, plus guides that explain how insurers typically value vehicles and how diminished value is commonly calculated. Every calculator shows its full arithmetic and states what it cannot determine. Every legal or factual claim in the guides is meant to cite a primary source next to the claim; see the source register and editorial policy.
What this site is not
- Not a law firm, public adjuster, appraisal company, or insurance company.
- Not a source of legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by using it.
- Not a guarantee of any settlement amount, outcome, or "maximum" recovery.
- Not a lead-generation funnel — there is no login, email gate, or data resale.
Who runs it
FairClaimCalculator is published and edited by David Bennett, an independent web publisher. He is not an attorney, insurance adjuster, or licensed vehicle appraiser. Content is researched from public primary sources — state insurance-department materials, statutes and regulations, court and settlement documents, and official policy language — and is reviewed for accuracy on an ongoing basis. Case-specific decisions should always be verified with a licensed attorney or a qualified independent appraiser in your state.
This page intentionally does not list professional credentials, licenses, or a headshot, because none are currently verified for publication. It will be updated only once specific, verifiable details are available.
How the site is funded
